Callista Sheridan

Membership Chair – 2014

Historian – 2013-2014

Bachelor’s of Science from UH in Psychology – 2014.

Hometown – New Orleans, LA (and proud of it!)– Though I’ve been told plenty of times that I’ve lived here long enough to say I’m a Texan.

What was your favorite food when you were a child?

Catsup. It went on everything that I could get away with. Weird I know, but I think every child has something like that when they’re little that they absolutely love.

What is your favorite form of exercise?

Dance. Almost any form of dance whenever my accident prone ways allow me to do it. You can either lose yourself in the music and just go with it, or focus on what you’re doing to the point that you forget about the outside world… either way, it never seems like “exercise” to me.

What smell do you love?

Gardenias, cherry vanilla, and fresh cupcakes. Highest on that list is fresh cupcakes, there’s just something about homemade baked goods that says comfort and love to me.

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?

Audrey Hepburn, hands down. She’s so classic, everything a lady should be, and I just bet she would have so many amazing stories to tell.

If you were a drink, what would it be?

Rum Punch – It’s deceptively sweet depending on who makes it, but it packs a punch that just sneaks up on you when you aren’t looking. It’s feisty, just like I am.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?

Evelyn “Evy” Carnahan –  from The Mummy movie series – she’s so incredibly accident prone that it’s just funny, but she’s also that librarian that gets to go out and have the adventure of a lifetime.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

What would you name the autobiography of your life?

I judge books by their covers…

What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?

Chumbawumba – “I get knocked down”

Deep Blue Something – “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”

Cream – “Sunshine of Your Love”

  Jimi Hendrix – “Foxy Lady”

I’m sure there’s more, but there’s so many that I love or would be fitting, and my memory is terrible for song titles and band names.

What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up?

Anything by Pixar…. There is always something in their movies that makes me tear up. I mean, they made me cry for his little roach friend in Wall-E, and I HATE roaches!

What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done?

College. It took me 13 years to graduate; all while working and refusing to grow up. But it just proved to me that if you persist and keep your head high, you can do anything you set your mind to (and you don’t always need to fully become an adult to be responsible).

What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?

I remember once that I was so in love with my new tap shoes that I brought them to school. They had this GLORIOUS tile floor in the main hallway that I knew would be perfect for tapping my little heart out! The teachers and administrators didn’t take too kindly to it though. I never did actually get signed up for tap classes after that…

Where’s Waldo?

On the run with Carmen Sandiego.
