Good Thyme Bella (GT)

Katy, TX

Good Thyme Bella (her friends call her GT) was born in Kirbyville, TX.  At the end of her Kindergarten year, her family moved to Kingwood, TX. She lived in Kingwood all the way through high school and moved out after she graduated. After leaving Kingwood, GT moved out to Waller, TX where she learned about caring for horses and working with them.  After meeting and falling head over heels for her husband, John, she moved to Katy, TX.

GT is married to one of the most incredibly awesome men around! She has 3 fantastic children.  Maggie, her oldest, is 10 and about to start middle school ( Yikes!) Maggie is GT’s best shopping buddy. Those two can’t get enough of all things girly! Alexis, middle child, is 8 and a huge fan of Audrey Hepburn (she’s just like her mommy)! Alexis is GT’s “mini me” in so many ways, but she is definitely just like her daddy! Patrick, her youngest, is 5 and going to be starting kindergarten in August.  Patrick is the perfect combination of GT and her husband! There is never a dull moment in that house and that’s a fact! GT has been a Girl Scout leader for both of her daughter’s troops for the past three years. She loves to volunteer especially when it comes to something she is so passionate about!

Good Thyme Bella has felt for the last 8 years that she’s a “1950’s housewife on the inside, but a modern day housewife on the outside.”  When she came across the Benefit Betties, it gave her the perfect opportunity to let the way she felt on the inside come out and be expressed on the outside! Although everything is very new to her, she loves everything about Pin Up and is so excited to start this new journey in life and see where it takes her.

Good Thyme Bella is a social butterfly! She enjoys meeting new people and hearing their stories! Some of her favorite things to do is hang out with her friends, whether it is going to have drinks, playing miniature golf, bowling, or one of her absolute favorite things, go shopping! GT’s shopping obsession is SHOES!

What’s your favorite activity?

My all time favorite activity is my weekly date night with my awesome husband! I am lucky to have such a wonderful brother in law that makes this possible.

What was your favorite food when you were a child?

I loved ketchup when I was growing up (still do)! I would eat just about everything with ketchup. That and Macaroni and Cheese….heaven (mouth watering)! I won’t even lie, I am sure I ate the two of those together at some point!

What is your favorite form of exercise?

Zumba and Kickboxing- both excellent cardio and a ton of fun to do!

What is your favorite day of the year?

“That’s a tough one. I’d have to say April 25th. Because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.” – Miss Congeniality (love that movie)

Really I would say Christmas day, I love seeing how happy my kids are after Santa stopped by!

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?

Audrey Hepburn & Marilyn Monroe- both extremely talented women with incredible stories. My dad has always been a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe so naturally being a daddy’s girl I learned to love her.  Audrey Hepburn seems to be such a classy beautiful woman.  Everything I want to be!

If you were a drink, what would it be?

Spiced Rum Punch- it’s sweet, spicy and packs one heck of a punch…..just like me!

If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?

Betty Boop- Really what girl didn’t want to be at least a little bit like her when they were little!

What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?

Oh this is a fun question! Let’s see there are a few songs that when I listen to them I just feel like it was written just for me.

“Good Times, Bad Times” by Godsmack (teen- early 20’s)

“But I Am a Good Girl” by Christina Aguilera (my inner “good girl”)

“Bound to You” by Christina Aguilera (love for my husband)

“Run the World (Girls)” by Beyonce (well obvious reasons)

“Every Time I Close My Eyes” by Babyface (our song, love you John)

“Get Lucky” by Daft Punk

When was the last time you were nervous?

I’m a little nervous right now, does that count?! I would have to say the last time I was nervous was probably when I joined the Benefit Betties. I didn’t know anyone in the beginning and since I am such a social butterfly that was hard on me. Being nervous didn’t last long though, this organization has the best group of girls that opened their arms and took me right in!
